Charlotte Whittle is a Jugendlich Dramatic Soprano from the Kingdom of Fife in Scotland.

Charlotte graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Voice) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland before continuing her opera studies with the internationally acclaimed dramatic soprano Vera Wenkert at the Institute Stimmkunst in Zürich, Switzerland.

Recent engagements include performing as a member of the Bayreuth Festival Chorus where she appeared in the premiere of Rienzi and in productions of Der fliegende Holländer, Götterdämmerung, and Parsifal. Her recent operatic roles include Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte) with kinderoper.ch, Third Norn and Gutrune (Götterdämmerung) with Cardiff Cotswolds Opera, Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) with Bath Opera, and the Mother (Hänsel und Gretel) with Heisenberg Ensemble. On the concert platform, Charlotte has performed scenes and excerpts as Amelia (Un ballo in maschera), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Elsa (Lohengrin), Elettra (Idomeneo), Sieglinde (Die Walküre) and Senta (Der fliegende Holländer.) She has appeared at the Edinburgh International Festival with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, as well as the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Crail Festival, and Largo Arts Week. She has worked with Thomas Barthel and Yulia Levin of Opernhaus Zürich, Wagnerian coach Ann Beckman, and conductor Anthony Negus. An experienced recitalist, particularly of the Wesendonck Lieder, Charlotte has performed at venues including Stirling Castle, St Giles’ Cathedral, Bristol Cathedral, Bath Abbey, and the Zunfthaus zur Waag in Zürich, as well as the Usher Hall, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, and the Byre Theatre.
